The Curing associated with an Epidemic

Our land is overcome with the unwanted effects, ranging from diabetes to tumor, of the expanding trend of obesity. With the rise of inexpensive food which is not rich with all the vital nutrients the body requirements, our overall health has declined speedily. Morgan Spurlock, writer and documentary filmmaker, uses his skills to increase awareness of this kind of " epidemic” to the public. Even though there are many factors that contribute to the crisis of overweight, there are always methods to overcome a great epidemic. During the last few decades, obesity is becoming more common than it has ever been. Spurlock states in Girth of any Nation that "[t]he overweight epidemic is actually nationwide, trimming across course, race, ethnicity and gender” (25). During the past the only group who was obese was the prosperous, due to the fact that the lower classes did not have enough money to obtain food enough to make these people obese. Today, a lot of food items have already been made low-cost for everyone, although this foodstuff is certainly not nutritious. Spurlock points out the fact that rise in unhealthy weight appears to coincide with the rise of take out (31). Fast food gives everybody a chance to get a plethora of nonnutritious food " quickly, cheap, and straightforward. ” In addition to getting the food cheap, anybody can choose to " super-size” the meal which makes it twice as damaging to the body. The fast food market is not the only cause of obesity. One can buy this unhealthy food in abundance at pretty much any store that sells groceries. However, public school systems provide this foodstuff to kids. Spurlock says that "[m]virtually any lower-income youngsters depend on the federally financed National University Lunch System for their primary hot meal of the day – and get basically the same high-fat, low-nutrition food broke up with on them there as that they had get at a fast food joint” (26).
