Between the silver eagles soaring while flying overhead KP and the whales in the deep water of GB – that's where you'll find a pair of NL most widely known artists.. Simply by pursuing their dream in 1990, that they created an award winning type of blue and white functional pottery with the signature " Whales and Ropes” models. As clay artists that they produce ceramics intended for the house and table but also relish the imaginative interplay among form and performance. Ten years later, in 2002, these music artists were identified for their job and granted the Glowing Jubilee Medal from Queen Elizabeth 2 in Ottawa, Ontario. In 2003, they expanded their particular horizons and began creating one-of-a-kind items that are fired in a particular salt/soda kiln – the first of its kind in Ocean Canada. Their particular technique makes unique colours, textures and visual effects with each and every shooting. There are zero two items alike. Their particular signature salt/soda plates and vessels have been showcased inside the Rooms Provincial Art Gallery in SJs, Newfoundland and as much abroad at the prestigious Intercontinental Craft Biennalein. When those two are not occupied flying around the world displaying goods or inside the workshop producing their pieces of art, that are made completely from the Globe's raw materials, they are really teaching understanding about the environment and how to decrease, reuse and recycle.
To be able to grow and work with two people who attention so much of the environment plus the earth as a whole, gives me superb pleasure to introduce for you, two of Canada's best known Potters, Jane Doe and John Doe.
